Starting in January Steelhead/Rainbow Trout (Steelhead Fishing - Oregon Department of Fish And Wildlife) fishing is our focus and we will fish for them in our local rivers through the end of April. This will be done in a 16ft. guide model drift boat. Our local rivers are our focus, Nestucca, Wilson, Trask, Kilchis, Siletz, Nehalem and Alsea.

In the month of May the Pacific Ocean will become the primary focus with bottom fishing species being the target. Species include black and blue sea bass, Ling cod, Cabezon as well as other bottom fish species. Halibut season is also part of the mix. With generous bag limits allowed. Our Dungeness crab season is also open and part of our trip offerings. When the ocean is too rough to fish there will be spring chinook fishing back in the rivers. That will start in May also and be done from the drift boat. Salmon season generally starts in late June or early July for silver salmon with ocean chinook already being in season by May, as well. The ocean fishing season is done from a 22 ft. custom Dory and generally goes until the end of September or early October.
Overlapping into late August and September we will then transition from the ocean back into the bays and tide water portions of the rivers for Chinook and Silver salmon. The primary focus will be to catch the “KING” of salmon, the Chinook. This season continues thru December 31st. Once the Chinook move up the river then we switch back to the drift boat. In October Steelhead fishing overlaps with Chinook Fishing. This may seem confusing but be assured we have it down.
